I did a quick sketch before supper last night: Color pencil is a clean way to relax and sketch! My hands don’t get dirty. 🙂 I just propped a vase up on the table beside my chair and had fun drawing it in color.

Still playing with the Arteza color pencil set. This is one of my chickens in front of the coop I built. She always stands like that and stares me down when I go in the pen. She can actually elongate her neck a little more.
Dratted Arteza
I bought some Arteza color pencils. You know why. Cheap. When I opened them and started looking, my heart sank. Tons of the pinks and violets had the highest lightfastness ratings. Ha, ha ha. First in Color Pencil
This duck is my first attempt at CP: colored or color pencils. I shouldn’t show it, because I had no permission to use the gorgeous photo I looked at. (I’m also still missing my old website)
Blue jay
I finally painted something after… a year, year and a half of not painting. This blue jay must have been injured, because he only moved his head, no matter how close I came. After I drew him, I mixed some egg tempera, only two color mixes, and then sub-mixes:
