I keep trying to take a charming picture of the ducklings, but I’m a big bad monster coming to eat them, so they always crowd into a corner. So, I give up: here’s a pic of them crowded into a corner ->

I got Storey’s Guide to Raising Ducks, and read about making a pit filled with gravel for their waterer to sit on. It’ll reduce the amount of mud, so:
That’s a foot deep, filled with gravel and about 3 feet wide. I stole the gravel from the driveway, now I have to find some sand to go over it?
