I started another wordpress.com site just to force myself to write more in Spanish while I’m learning. It’s https://hastacintia.wordpress.com. I started a painting of a horse….here’s the drawing I made but every time I start to paint, I’m interrupted. I mean, really no exception! I can stand interruptions at any other time, but not while… Continue reading Spanish site
I’ve been having a study binge. I haven’t had time to paint, because during my free time I’ve studied – for the umpteenth time por la enesima vez – Spanish again. If you know me, you know I’m a chronic Spanish quitter. I’ve always quit, mainly because I can’t hear other languages, even when I… Continue reading Study binge
I like loose paintings with expressive strokes, but usually I’m too uptight a person to successfully leave a painting like that. I overwork. But I’ve been gardening and hammering – outside work. So, my drawing hand is tired. I took advantage of it. 🙂 Nice and loose work! Yep, this is digital. I used digital… Continue reading Loosely painted horse
With the advice of my granddaughter, I came up with a little dragon concept. My first dragon. It’s nice to do something from my imagination. Much more creative, I think. Oh yeah, I should say I used several textures in Krita. For the reptilian scales, I made a layer over the colored-in dragon, set the… Continue reading First dragon edited

WIP = Work In Progress I started this sketch today. The photo is copyright-free, from pexels.com. Such amazing photography there! Speaking of….I love to draw faces. But I can’t improve on a photograph, so I’ve been asking myself why. Why do I draw/paint something a photograph can do better? Day two – I’ve started shading… Continue reading WIP Wrinkles
I’m just casually sketching things lately. Just having a little fun with all those brushes.
I’m playing with the DA Oil 16 Rough Blocking brush, from the Digital Atelier. I did everything in that experiment with that one brush, except for the start of the tree trunk and limbs. Oh, and the blue in the sky. The clouds, the vegetation, the mountains, the shadows, the little spots of ‘blooms’ were… Continue reading Rough Blocking Brush
Yes, I have Nerd Block. Inability to produce a work, because I am nerding out over the attractions of the software program. That exist to help one produce a work! Seriously, Krita has too many color options. I’m not even painting because I’m adding keyboard shortcuts to “Color Hot-keys” and to 10 brushes, listed below… Continue reading Nerd Block
I’m going to show you what I’m working on. It’s a type of vanitas – memento moris. I just messed up the head, so I’ve been trying to restore it today. (I realized the neck was too long, so I selected the head and moved it downward. Simple, right? Well, I had accidentally painted for… Continue reading work chatter
